Man found in street with broken ribs and collapsed lung

A 24-year-old man was in critical condition after he was found lying in the street in the 2000 block of South Minneapolis at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, police said Sunday.

A 49-year-old woman noticed the man in the street and called police, who arrived with EMS. The man had broken ribs, a collapsed right lung, and lacerations to his face, Wichita police Lt. Sam Hanley said.

He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, and police had no update on his condition Sunday morning, Hanley said.

Police have no information on a suspect in the case.
