A man at a North Waco apartment has been arrested after being accused of beating his girlfriend and another woman and burning his girlfriend in the face with a cigarette, police said Saturday.

Wichita police Sgt. Bruce Watts gave this account: A 28-year-old woman reported about 9:30 p.m. Friday that her boyfriend punched her several times and choked until she went unconscious and hit her with a plastic coat hanger and burned her in the face with cigarette.

When a second woman, age 26, tried to intervene, the man beat her and threw her to the concrete, causing her to lose consciousness. The second victim was taken to a hospital in “non-critical” condition, Watts said. The alleged beating occurred in the 900 block of North Waco.

The man was booked into jail on suspicion of crimes including aggravated battery.
