Officials with the Arkansas City Police Department are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy, Manton Kieffer, on Sunday, a release from the department stated Tuesday.
Officers and EMS arrived at the Garden Walk Apartments in Arkansas City shortly after 7 p.m. to find neighbors performing CPR on the child, whose parents were not present. The boy apparently was under the care of the mother’s boyfriend, according to the release.
The boy was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center where he died despite attempts to resuscitate him.
Officials are waiting on the results of a Monday autopsy to determine the cause of death.
