Two men escaped with minor injuries from a drive-by shooting in southwest Wichita late Monday night, police said.

The incident unfolded in the 1800 block of South Glenn shortly after 11 p.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said. The two men, ages 31 and 40, said two vehicles pulled up and two suspects got out.

They came into the yard where the victims were and began yelling, Nolte said. One suspect pulled a handgun from the waistband of his pants and handed it to the second suspect, who fired several shots.

One bullet grazed the left hand of one victim and another grazed the left knee of the second victim. At least one of the victims recognized a woman sitting in one of the suspect cars, Nolte said.

“The victims weren’t sure why they were singled out — or they’re not telling us,” Nolte said.

Neither victim is a gang member, he said.

Police did not release descriptions of the suspects involved in the drive-by shooting, which occurred west of Aley Park between Seneca and Meridian.
