Two Wichita Rent-A-Centers were burglarized Sunday morning, according to Sgt. Scott Brunow, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The first burglary happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at 1038 S. Oliver in the Parklane Shopping Center. Police say burglars pried open a door and stole a television set and sound equipment.

The second happened shortly after 6 a.m. at 601 N. West St. A 44-year-old employee said he saw two men back a white 2000 Ford Windstar van up to the front door, pry open the door and take a TV. When he approached them, one of the burglars pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun. The two then left. The employee was not hurt.

Brunow said detectives are analyzing videotapes of the burglaries recorded by the stores’ surveillance cameras.
