A dispute between two neighbors over work done to a car turned violent just after 9 p.m. Monday, as a 58-year-old man stabbed his 41-year-old neighbor three times — in the abdomen, arm and back, police said.

After stabbing the man at his house in the 2300 block of North Lorraine, near Hillside, the older man drove away in a gold Chrysler four-door car, police Lt. Doug Nolte said. Police have identified the man and were expected to issue arrest warrants Tuesday, Nolte said.

The victim was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition, and received at least 100 stitches and staples to close up the wound on his abdomen, police said.
