A 52-year-old Wichita man is dead after he lost control of his truck and crashed Wednesday morning in Pratt County.
A medical condition apparently led Edward B. Houdek to veer off of U.S. 54 about a half-mile west of Cunningham and into a ditch, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report. His 1999 Ford truck then continued its path through a pasture and stopped in a dry creek bed.
The crash happened at 10:09 a.m., the highway patrol said. Houdek was eastbound on U.S. 54 and crossed the median into oncoming traffic before driving into the north ditch, KHP reported.
