Hutchinson woman injured in K-96 accident

A 25-year-old Hutchinson woman was injured when the car she was driving drifted into the back of a semi-trailer truck that had slowed to turn left on K-96 near Mount Hope on Tuesday night, authorities said.

A 25-year-old Hutchinson woman was injured when the car she was driving drifted into the back of a semi-trailer truck that had slowed to turn left on K-96 near Mount Hope on Tuesday night, authorities said.

Klairborne Arnold was driving west on K-96 at about 10 p.m. Tuesday when her Saturn drifted into the left lane about five miles east of Mount Hope and slammed into the back of a semi-trailer truck that had slowed to make a left-hand turn, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.

Arnold, who was wearing her seatbelt, was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita for treatment. She is in fair condition. The 31-year-old Andale man who was driving the semi was not hurt in the collision.
