Billy L. Wilson, 52, who pleaded guilty to robbing the Commerce Bank Branch on March 1 in downtown Wichita, has been sentenced to 77 months in prison, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Tuesday in a news release.

Grissom said Wilson handed a teller a note saying he had a gun and was robbing the bank, which is at 456 N. Main. He took the money and left. Surveillance photos helped identify Wilson as the robber.

Law enforcement officers then located him at an apartment complex in the 800 block of South Hydraulic. Wilson turned himself in later to the Sedgwick County Jail.
