Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County said Tuesday in a news release that it will pay a $1,000 reward to the person who provided an anonymous tip last month that led to the arrest of three people suspected of killing Jordan Turner, 19, of Wichita.
Crime Stoppers received the tip May 2, the day after Turner’s body was identified. He was found in a field near 127th Street East and Pawnee. The three suspects were arrested soon after.
The group’s advisory board, at its monthly meeting this week, voted unanimously to pay the reward.
Also in May, a tip to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of two suspects involved in a gun battle on May 16 near 13th and Broadway. The tip, received five days later, led to the two arrests and the seizure of seven firearms. The two suspects now face federal charges of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by phone at 316-267-2111, online at www.wsccs.com or through text message to CRIMES (274637).
