Wichita State to break ground today on new residence hall

Wichita State University plans to break ground Tuesday for its new residence hall, the university said Monday.

The ceremony is at 1 p.m. in the parking lot north of Morrison Hall. A reception will follow on the front lawn of Morrison Hall, WSU officials said.

A fence now encloses what once were 750 parking spaces between Morrison and Cessna Stadium. Parking, always a challenge during regular semester days, will become more of a challenge when fall semester classes resume. As a result, university officials said, the plot of land near Corbin Hall, at the north end of the campus, is being redone as a parking lot that will add about 400 spaces.
