Two Wichita men were killed in a head-on collision on I-235 in west Wichita during the Tuesday morning commute, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Nicholas Oswald, 27, of Wichita, was driving south on I-235 shortly after 7:30 a.m. when his Acura went through the median and into northbound lanes of the interstate near K-42, according to a Highway Patrol report.
The Acura struck a Chevrolet pickup head-on, killing both drivers. The driver of the Chevy was identified as Charles Hutchinson, 32, of Wichita.
Witnesses said the Acura “crossed the median for no apparent reason,” Trooper Gary Warner said.
The collision occurred a short distance after the Acura entered the northbound lanes.
