A weekend patrol by Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies aimed at catching people driving under the influence resulted in three arrests, the Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
The patrol was from 11 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday. There were a total of 12 arrests.
Besides the three DUI arrests, the office said one person was arrested for driving on a suspended license, one for transporting an open container, four on drug charges and three on outstanding warrants. In addition, 37 tickets were written for various traffic violations.
One sergeant, five deputies and two reserve deputies worked the patrol. A grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation paid for the operation, the Sheriff’s Office said.
