KBI, other agencies conduct raids in Manhattan area

Several law enforcement agencies, including the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, carried out a series of raids Wednesday morning in northeast Kansas, according to a news release from the KBI.

According to the release, the Geary County Attorney’s Office, Junction City Police Department, Riley County Police Department, Geary County Sheriff’s Office and Grandview Plaza Police Department, along with the KBI, served search warrants in Manhattan, Junction City and Ogden. The warrants are the culmination of a detailed investigation, the release said.

Details about the raids and investigation will be released Thursday morning. A news conference about the operation is planned for 4 p.m. Thursday in Junction City.
