A third person has been arrested in connection with the alleged abuse of a 2-year-old boy in northeast Wichita last week, authorities said Monday.
A tipster alerted police via the department’s website to possible child abuse that occurred in a moving car on Tuesday, said Lt. Jeff Weible of the Exploited and Missing Child Unit. An investigation identified the child, he said, and a 22-year-old woman related to the boy was arrested Thursday.
A 23-year-old woman and 20-year-old man have subsequently been arrested in connection with the case. The boy has been released to family, Weible said.
