Cindy Claycomb has been named interim dean of the Barton School of Business, effective June 2, Wichita State University said in a statement Thursday.

Claycomb will be interim dean for the 2013-2014 academic year while a national search is done to find a permanent dean.

She succeeds Doug Hensler, the current dean, who is leaving WSU to become provost at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., the WSU statement said.

Before she earned a doctorate, Claycomb worked for ten years for Pizza Hut, Inc., WSU said.

WSU hired her in 1994 as an assistant professor of marketing and entrepreneurship in the Barton School of Business. She became a full professor in 2006, WSU said..

She has won numerous teaching awards, including, in 1996, the Barton School’s "Instructor of the Year" award, WSU said.
