A 13-year-old boy was punched twice on the way home from school Monday afternoon and a video of the incident was later posted on Facebook, police said.
Another 13-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred at about 1:20 p.m. in the 2300 block of East Mount Vernon, Lt. Doug Nolte said.
Both students attend Mead Middle School, USD 259 spokeswoman Susan Arensman said.
“The school talked with parents of the students involved and they received appropriate consequences,” she said in an e-mail response to questions.
The video was not taken by the student who threw the punches, Nolte said, but he did not know how many other students may have been involved in the incident.
The victim suffered no visible injuries in the attack. The suspect was booked into the juvenile detention facility.
A police report stated the video was posted on “UTUBE,” but Nolte said that was incorrect. Arensman said school staff were made aware of the video and they notified police.
