The Maize school district has named its new communications director.
Lori O’Toole Buselt, entertainment and lifestyles editor for The Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com, will become the district’s primary spokeswoman May 28, officials announced Tuesday.
Buselt is a 1997 graduate of Maize High School. She has a bachelor of science in journalism and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Kansas. Her annual salary will be $60,000, according to district officials.
She will replace Karen McDermott, who has held the post since 2000. McDermott resigned in March. She plans to move to Oklahoma City with her husband, who works in aviation and was transferred there.
