Wichita police are investigating an alleged aggravated battery Friday evening in the 1600 block of S. Old Manor.

A woman told police that an acquaintance brought an unknown man to her house about 6 p.m.

The man asked to borrow $20 and told the woman he would leave his cellphone and paycheck as collateral.

As soon as she gave him the money, he tried to flee. They fought and he struck her with a baseball bat. He eventually kicked the door open and left, police said.

He is described as a 28-year-old black man; 6-feet, 3-inches tall; with a slender build.

The police said she didn’t sustain any serious injuries.
