A scale model of downtown Wichita, including architectural ideas for the city’s downtown property, will be unveiled May 8 at the Wichita Downtown Development Corp.
The model, and conceptual drawings of the possible uses for the eight city-owned “catalyst” sites – five downtown and three along the Arkansas River – will be on display from 4:30 to 6 p.m. that day at the WDDC’s Design and Innovation Center, 505 E. Douglas.
The model and drawings were produced by Kansas State University landscape architect students. The sites are considered potentially key pieces, if developed, in downtown Wichita’s revitalization.
