A 43-year-old Wichita man told police that someone called him claiming he had an outstanding warrant and had one hour to pay or he would be contacted by City Hall and his employer would find out about the warrant.
The man sent money via a debit card, a police report said. The report did not say how much money he sent. About an hour and a half later, the man said he received another call reporting to be from the Texas state attorney’s office saying he had other outstanding warrants.
