Wichita River Festival rounds out concert lineup with Go-Go’s, Big Head Todd and the Monsters

Wichita Festivals Inc. announced Friday morning the rest of its musical lineup for the festival, which is scheduled for May 31 to June 8.
The list includes Mike Finnigan and the Phantom Blues Band, Beatles tribute band American English, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, The Go-Go’s, Wade Bowen and Logan Mize.
These acts will join already named performers Chris Mann, Montgomery Gentry and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
Admission to all festival concerts this year is free with a River Festival button, which costs $5 for adults.. This year’s festival also will offer a limited number of $3 children’s buttons.
Mann, a Wichita native who was a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice,” will perform on the festival’s opening night, May 31. He’ll sing with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra at the Koch Twilight Pops Concert.
On June 1, another Wichita native — Grammy winning blues musician Mike Finnigan — will perform with his Phantom Blues Band.
The June 2 concert, called “Learjet Throwback Sunday,” will feature American English, a popular Beatles tribute band. Fans can see that concert wearing a button from any River Festival, past or present.
Country duo Montgomery Gentry will perform on June 5, and on June 6, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will headline the Cajun festivities tied into the Cajun Food Fest.
Big Head Todd and the Monsters, best known for the 1993 hits “Bittersweet” and “Broken Hearted Savior,” will perform on June 7, and 1980s pop group the Go-Go’s, lead by Belinda Carlisle, will perform at the June 8 Riverfest Beach Party, during which festival organizers plan to fill Century II’s Kennedy Plaza with 310 tons of sand.
Also on June 8, Texas Country/Red Dirt singer Wade Bowen and Clearwater-native Logan Mize will perform at the Waterwalk Pavilion.
Festival buttons go on sale May 10 at local AAA, Dillons and QuikTrip stores. This year, the festival will sell 25,000 $3 children’s buttons in addition to the usual $5 adult buttons.
