Groundbreaking ceremony for parking garage, rental car center at Mid-Continent Airport set for Wednesday

Ground will be broken Wednesday on a new parking garage and rental car center at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport .

A ceremony featuring city and airport officials will start at 10:30 a.m. in the airport’s short-term parking lot

Mayor Carl Brewer, director of airports Victor White, and airport advisory board chairman Thom Rosenberg will speak.

They will give details about the new building and talk about plans for parking while construction is underway.

Work began in August on the airport’s new $101.5 million terminal, which is due to be completed in early 2015.
