Two young children were placed in protective custody after their father was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine, police said.
A social worker for the Department of Children and Families conducted a welfare check on the two young girls, ages 1 and 4, on Tuesday afternoon, Lt. Doug Nolte said. Their 43-year-old father was found to be on meth and the mother was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
The children were living in the 4500 block of South Osage, which is south of MacArthur Road and east of Seneca, said Lt. Jeff Weible of the Exploited and Missing Child Unit. They were taken to the Wichita Children’s Home.
