Police are looking for a Ford Bronco that someone used to impersonate a law enforcement officer Tuesday night.
A woman from Kingman called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday to report the Bronco had pulled up behind her and turned on some red and blue flashing lights, Lt. Doug Nolte said. The first contact was in the 1200 block of North Maize Road.
“She was very suspicious this was not an actual police vehicle,” Nolte said, so she did not pull over.
The vehicle eventually went around her and sped away. The witness then pulled over and called 911.
She said the Bronco had a white top and blue lower half, with partial Kansas license plate number of 883. It did not activate a siren. The lights appeared to be flashing from a visor.
“This driver did the right thing,” Nolte said. “She pulled over and called 911 to make a report.”
Anyone familiar with the suspicious vehicle is encouraged to call 316-268-4646, Nolte said.
