Nearly 300 high school and middle school students from the Wichita area are volunteering their time during spring break this week to help nonprofits with a variety of projects.

It’s part of the 20th annual United Way Days of Caring, which runs from Monday through Friday.

Students are working on 41 projects for 29 nonprofits. Some of the students are doing more than one project, according to the United Way of the Plains.

Among the chores they are tackling are commodity distribution, yard work, spring cleaning, teaching seniors to play Wii games, and playing with children.
