In less than three weeks, the seventh graders at Council Grove Middle School went viral.
They completed their class assignment of making contact with someone from each of the more than 600 towns in Kansas. They also made contact with Kansas natives all over the world.
On Sunday, a post on their “Where On Earth Is Kansas?” Facebook page stated the students would keep the page open until the end of school. So far, the page has attracted 250,000 followers with more than 2,000 messages a day.
The class plans on making a presentation to the Council Grove school board, letting board members know what has been learned so far on the project. Postings have included facts about Kansas, pictures, stories and folk tales.
