Sedgwick County manager’s car vandalized while at downtown meeting

Someone smashed in the window of Sedgwick County Manager William Buchanan’s vehicle Thursday while he was at a meeting of the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition.

Buchanan was a few minutes late to a planned budget meeting among department heads and elected officials at the zoo on Thursday afternoon.

He explained he left the GWEDC’s annual investors meeting at the Hyatt Regency Wichita and found his car vandalized and his gym bag missing.

An avid runner, Buchanan lamented that he had new running shoes in the bag that only had three miles on them.
