Wichita native Chris Mann will perform at the Wichita River Festival’s opening night, according to a post on his website Monday afternoon.
Festival president and CEO Mary Beth Jarvis said she could not confirm the performance.
Mann’s website, chrismannmusic.com, listed on Monday afternoon that he would perform at the festival May 31, which is the opening date of the event. This year’s festival runs May 31 through June 8.
Later in the day, the post was taken down.
Mann, a Southeast High graduate who finished in the top four on a recent season of NBC’s “The Voice,” has gone on to release his own album and has made several television appearances, including on “Conan.” He also sang the national anthem before the University of Kansas-University of Texas basketball game earlier this month.
Jarvis said the festival will announce some of its performers March 13, when it names its new Admiral Windwagon Smith. Other acts should be announced at the beginning of April.
