Tabor College communications professor Aleen Ratzlaff will speak on “Black Newspapers and African-American Communities in Kansas” at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Wichita Central Library auditorium, 223 S. Main.
The presentation is part of the Senior Wednesday program, and replaces a scheduled presentation by Bonita Gooch.
Ratzlaff’s talk focuses on the role of black newspapers as pipelines of information, a platform to denounce injustice and a promoter for racial uplifting through education and entrepreneurship.
