Wichita police are investigating to determine whether two incidents that happened close together Friday night are connected.
An armed man wearing a black ski mask robbed the Presto convenience store at 1350 N. Oliver just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The man walked into the store, pointed the black revolver at the clerk and demanded money from the register.
Once the clerk complied, the man left the store and walked east on 13th Street, Schroeder said.
He is a black male in his 20s, the clerk told police. He is 5-feet-5 and has a heavy build. He wore a blue sweater, tan pants, black gloves and a black ski mask.
Shortly before the Presto was robbed, a man wearing a black ski mask tried to enter the Domino’s Pizza at 327 N. Hillside, Schroeder said. But the employees refused to open the door for him, so he left.
Police are reviewing surveillance video from the two stores to see if the same suspect was at both locations, Schroeder said.
