A man who said he was armed robbed a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market store Tuesday night in southeast Wichita, police said.
The man walked into the store at 9831 E. Harry shortly before 10:30 p.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s next to Webb Road.
The suspect told a cashier he had a gun and demanded cash from the register, Nolte said. The register drawer was open, so he reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash before walking out the door.
The employee at the register told police the robber is a black man about 6 feet tall. He weighs about 170 pounds and wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and tan pants with a bandanna on his head.
He was last seen getting into a white Dodge Durango with damage on the front hood on the driver’s side, Nolte said. He drove south on Webb Road.
No weapon was seen and no injuries were reported.
