Kansas Star Casino will hold a silent auction this weekend of nearly 50 football memorabilia to raise funds to help World War II veterans make trips to Washington, D.C., to see their war memorial.

The auction will be from noon Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday. All items are on the casino floor, where the bidding will be conducted.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Kansas Honor Flight, a Hutchinson-based organization that takes WWII vets to the nation’s capital.

Some of the items up for bid include signed jerseys from such current and former NFL stars as Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Joe Montana; autographed footballs from Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice; and signed photos by Bo Jackson.

Customers must be 21 or older to bid.
