No injuries were reported when someone fired several shots at a house in north Wichita early Friday morning, police said.
The shots were fired at about 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 2400 block of North Jeanette, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s west of Arkansas and between 21st and 25th streets.
Residents of the neighborhood reported a vehicle leaving the area, and it returned to the street while officers were on scene investigating the incident, Nolte said.
The two people in the car — an 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man — were questioned and eventually arrested, Nolte said. But they were not arrested in connection with the shooting incident. The woman was jailed due to an outstanding warrant, Nolte said, and the man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Officers found several shell casings in the street, Nolte said. The search for possible suspects continues.
