In a departure from its usual menu of Republican politics, the Wichita Pachyderm Club will go ancient Greek with an appearance by Plato at its meeting on Friday.
The dramatic presentation will feature an area university professor, who has asked not to be named, portraying the Athenian philosopher who lived from 427 to 347 B.C. The presentation is called "The Masses are A**es, the Case Against Democracy," and reflects Plato’s dissatisfaction with majority rule.
The Pachyderm presentation will run from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Petroleum Club, on the ninth floor of the Bank of America Building, 100 N. Broadway. The cost is $10 and includes a buffet lunch.
