An armed, masked man robbed the Presto convenience store on South Oliver early Thursday morning, Wichita police said.

The man walked into the Presto at 2001 S. Oliver, next to Mount Vernon, just after midnight and pointed a silver handgun at the clerk, Lt. Doug Nolte said. He demanded the cash from the register, which he then placed in a black backpack before leaving.

Neither the clerk nor another person in the store at the time were injured, Nolte said.

The robber is a black man about 20 years of age, the witnesses told police. He was about 5-foot-7 and had a slim build. He wore a black ski mask and a black hooded sweatshirt, the witnesses said.
