Some welcome rain is expected to dampen Wichita’s morning today.
Wichita can expect between a quarter- and a half-inch of rain by the time precipitation ends, said Jerilyn Billings, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
It won’t do much to dent the drought, she said, but no one’s complaining.
“We’ll take anything we can get,” Billings said.
Highs will climb into the low 50s, with light winds shifting from the east to the south over the course of the day. Skies should remain mostly cloudy throughout the night, with temperatures only dropping about 10 degrees overnight.
Friday could see temperatures soar all the way into the 60s, forecasters say. Skies will be partly sunny, with south winds gusting above 25 miles an hour.
