It must have seemed like Norm was robbing Cheers.
A regular at Judy’s Place in the 1300 block of South Seneca decided to help himself to cash from the register at closing time early Monday morning, police said. The 41-year-old man walked behind the bar, shoved an employee out of the way and took several hundred dollars in cash from the till.
He then left the bar. Patrons gave police the man’s name and home address, Lt. Doug Nolte said. Officers went to that address and found the man and the stolen cash.
He was arrested. Nolte said he did not know how much alcohol the man drank before he stole the money.
