A 33-year-old man was arrested late Tuesday night after neighbors reported hearing numerous gunshots in their area, police said.
The calls came out shortly after 11 p.m. in the 600 block of South Kansas, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s just south of Kellogg and just east of Hydraulic.
Witnesses heard 8 to 10 shots fired, Nolte said. Officers found shell casings in a driveway, and when they spoke to the resident of the house he admitted to having weapons. The officers found and confiscated numerous weapons, Nolte said.
The suspect is a convicted felon, so he was booked into jail. A canvass of the area found no bullet holes in surrounding houses, but police say it’s possible other houses in the area may have been hit.
Anyone who has information linked to the case is asked to call 316-268-4646, Nolte said. Those who want to leave information anonymously may call 316-267-2111.
