Tickets to an Aug. 6 concert in Wichita by singer Taylor Swift sold out within minutes of going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Intrust Bank Arena officials have said.
A crowd of about 100 gathered outside the arena to buy tickets, which were sold using the arena’s lottery system, designed to discourage camping and ensure fairness. Everyone who showed up in person for the lottery got tickets, said Christine Pileckas, the arena’s director of sales and marketing.
Those trying to buy online tickets found them gone by about 10:02 a.m.
Swift’s 2010 concert at Intrust Bank Arena also sold out within minutes.
Although all available tickets are sold out, additional tickets are sometimes released closer to the show date, arena officials said. If that happens, arena officials will alert the public.
