One woman was shot in the shin during a disturbance Friday evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 2744 S. Seneca, police said Saturday.
A 25-year-old man was being sought on suspicion of aggravated battery in the shooting, Sgt. B.W. Watts said. The woman who was shot was treated at Via Christi Hospital on East Harry and was released, Watts said.
The disturbance began around 6 p.m. as a fight between two women in the parking lot, Watts said. A man arrived on the scene and held a gun to one woman’s head, eventually firing shots, though not at the woman’s head, Watts said. Another man arrived, also with a gun, and also fired shots, Watts said. He did not know which of the two men was being sought by police now.
Two apartments were hit by bullets, but only the one person was hit, Watts said. It was unclear whether the victim was one of the two women who originally were fighting.
