The driver in a deadly wrong-way crash on the Lewis and Clark Viaduct on Wednesday night has also died.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Otis T. Estell, 66, of Kansas City, Kan., died Thursday morning. William J. Jerdee, 47, also of Kansas City, Kan., died at the scene of the accident shortly before 8 p.m.
The patrol said Estell was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 when his 1993 Ford Explorer struck Jerdee’s 1999 Ford Escort. The Explorer’s headlights were not on.
The patrol said Jerdee was wearing a seatbelt. Estell was not.
The westbound lanes of the viaduct were shut down for about two hours because of the crash.
