A woman who was hit by a bullet fragment outside of an Oklahoma City bar on Sunday didn’t bother to seek medical treatment until she had returned to Wichita, police said.
The victim was with three other women in a car outside a biker bar called Dem Damn Sevens when they heard gunfire, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said. Two bullets hit the driver-side door. A bullet fragment ricocheted into the back seat, hitting a 34-year-old woman in the left leg.
They drove back to Wichita and went to Via Christi Hospital on East Harry shortly before 7 p.m. for treatment, Nolte said. Police spoke to the victim and a 20-year-old woman who was with her at the hospital. The other two women in the car at the time of the incident are 39 and 31.
The women told police they did not see anyone fire shots. The victim’s wound is not considered serious, Nolte said.
