Two houses were hit when someone fired several shots in southeast Wichita late Monday night, police said.
The shots were fired at about 11 p.m. at a house in the 4900 block of East Morris, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s northeast of Oliver and Lincoln.
About six shots were fired, a police report states. One bullet passed through the walls of one house and struck a second house next door, Nolte said.
There were seven people inside the first house, including four children between the ages of 6 and 13. No injuries were reported.
A witness saw a midsize 1990s four-door with a rounded-style back end leave the area immediately after the shots were fired, Nolte said, but they did not see anyone shoot from the vehicle. Shell casings were found in the street.
