A freeze warning for the Wichita metropolitan area will be in effect until 9 a.m. today, before sunshine boosts temperatures into the low 50s under mostly sunny skies.
Winds will remain out of the north, forecasters say, with steady breezes in the teens and gusts climbing into the low 20s. Temperatures are expected to fall into the mid-20s tonight – thus prompting the National Weather Service to issue a freeze watch for the region – and the weekend is projected to bring highs in the 50s under mostly sunny skies.
The nights will remain cold, with highs in the low to mid-30s.
