A 25-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital after falling from a roof in Wichita on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The man was working on a roof at 660 S. Quentin when he fell at about 4:30 p.m., a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.
“No one actually saw him fall,” Lt. Doug Nolte said. “They found him after he fell.”
Given where he was found, others on the roofing crew estimated he fell 20 feet, Nolte said. What caused the fall is not clear.
The man suffered a skull fracture, the dispatch supervisor said, and Nolte said he also suffered a severe neck injury. He is at Wesley Medical Center.
The victim is a Wichita resident, Nolte said. The house where he was injured is southeast of Kellogg and Hillside.
