Two men were arrested early Wednesday morning after they were linked to a pair of shooting incidents earlier in the evening, police said.
A man called 911 shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday to report that a man he knew came to his door with a gun and demanded to be let in, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. But the resident would not open the door to his home in the 6800 block of West Par Lane, and the visitor left.
As he was leaving, he fired five to six shots toward the house south of Central and east of Ridge, the resident reported.
Just before 2 a.m., a resident near University and Tyler in west Wichita reported hearing shots fired in the area. Two other people witnessed the incident and told police. Officers found the car linked to the incidents at the QuikTrip at 242 S. Tyler.
The two men inside the red Cadillac, ages 32 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of criminal discharge of a firearm and a drug offense, Schroeder said. A gun was found in the car when officers investigated.
Shell casings were found, Schroeder said, but no bullet strikes were found on houses or other property. No injuries were reported.
