Police are investigating a robbery reported Saturday night at the McDonald’s just west of Wichita State University.
A man came into the McDonald’s at 17th and Hillside shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday and handed the 45-year-old employee at the cash register a note asking for all the money in the safe, Wichita police Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The employee was to take the money from the safe and put it in a restroom trash can.
The robber then took the money from the restroom and left, the employee told police.
Two other people in the restaurant reported seeing the man enter, a police report states. No weapon was seen or indicated. There is no surveillance video available because the system was not operating at the time of the robbery, Schroeder said.
