A 22-year-old man was transported to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition Saturday morning after he lost control of his car on Kellogg and rolled it down an embankment.

The accident happened about 9:45 a.m. Saturday on westbound Kellogg, just across from Newman University. The man’s car left Kellogg, crossed the onramp from Edwards/Meridian, rolled at least once, crashed through a fence and landed in an open field that sits behind Church at the Cross and is bordered by Custer.

The man was alone in his car, and no one else was injured. Sgt. William Stevens said police were still investigating what caused the man to lose control of the car and were interviewing people who called 911 after seeing the accident.
