Police said Monday that they have arrested a 27-year-old man in a hit-and-run accident early Saturday at Harry and Oliver that critically injured a Wichita motorcyclist.

The collision occurred at about 3 a.m. when a white vehicle going south on Oliver hit the motorcycle as it was going east on Harry, police Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The motorcyclist reportedly had a green light.

On Sunday, police following a tip found a vehicle being towed to a body shop and verified it was the vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run, Schroeder said. Police then tracked down the driver of the vehicle and booked him into jail. The case is expected to be presented to prosecutors this week.

Among the motorcyclist’s injuries was a large cut on his hip, Schroeder said. An update on his condition wasn’t available.
